Jordaan: most cute apartment rentals in Amsterdam
The Jordaan is the place to be if you really want to go “Dutch”. It’s located in the center of Amsterdam, between the Prinsengracht and the Lijnbaansgracht. This area brought Holland lots of famous singers, as Johnny Jordaan and Willy Alberti. Even the famous Dutch artist Rembrandt lived in the Jordan for some time. As this charming area breathes the typical Dutch lifestyle and “gezelligheid” (cozyness) it’s for an expat the best experience of Holland one can get. At the moment this area is where most single expats want to live. The area is also famous for the house boats, as the Jordaan has lots of houseboats in the canals. Furthermore the area has lots of cute canals and narrow streets. The people living in the Jordaan is a mix of artists, expats and locals. Because of the age of the district, the quality of the apartments is not as good as it is in Oud Zuid for example. Parking is, just as the Amsterdam Center, not easy to get. As there are even less apartments with private parking in the Jordaan, it’s really hard to find a place to stay in Amsterdam with a car.
