Saying goodbye to your apartment in Amsterdam!
If the rental term of tenancy is over, or it is time for you to move on, it’s time for the check out of your apartment! During the check out your housing agent will walk, along with your landlord, through the house to check if everything was as when you started renting the property.
After the checkout of your apartment
After the checkout the landlord will wire the deposit back to your bank account, as long as you don’t have broken something. During the checkout ask immediately if there are any charges which can be made against your deposit. If something needs fixing or cleaning in the apartment the costs of this will be deducted of your deposit. The balance should be returned by the landlord to you within 4 weeks. Your housing agent should act on your behalf in trying to secure the return of your deposit.
